Cancellation Policy

If there is inclement weather where the excursion cannot take place, the tour will be rescheduled. If the rescheduling cannot be done, your money will be refunded. The 50% down payment required to book services is refundable up to 30 days before the service takes place. Otherwise, all deposits are non-refundable.  Cancellations for reasons other than the aforementioned shall not be permitted unless otherwise indicated by El Tour Caribe.

Additional Information

Pregnant women will not be allowed to participate in any of our tours.

Guest with mobility issues should not select these tours unless they have consulted directly with El Tour Caribe prior to booking.

Please note that prices are BEFORE the 18% sales tax and that there is a 6% processing fee for online payments.

Consider physical fitness and medical history when selecting tour.

Guests must consider their physical fitness level and medical history when determining whether this tour is appropriate.

Guests with cardiac conditions, asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, other heart or respiratory conditions or any other medical condition WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO DIVE UNLESS THEY HAVE A SIGNED MEDICAL STATEMENT ALLOWING THEM TO DO SO. They must take particular caution when selecting a tour with snorkelling/swimming elements, since such water activities could be subject to adverse sea conditions such as high winds, waves and sea current.

Guests who have concerns must consult with their personal physician before engaging in any activity that may be strenuous for them, particularly those involving snorkeling/swimming/diving elements.

A signed letter of authorization from a medical doctor to dive will be needed if any part of the waiver form/medical statement is completed with a yes.


This contract between the customer and El Tour Caribe (Hereinafter referred to as the service provider) is subject to the following terms and conditions.

Release/limitations of liabilities

By participating, the customer assumes risk of personal injury, loss or damage to him/herself and his/her personal possessions. The customer releases the service provider from all direct, indirect, punitive incidentals. Special or consequential damages arising from or related to the provision of services, including economic loss, physical or mental injury, or any act, omission or negligence, even if caused in whole or in part by the negligent conduct of the service provider or its employees or agents. If the service provider is unable by law to exclude its liability, the customer agrees that the service provider’s liability is limited to the value of the service purchased.

Severability Clause

If any portion of this agreement is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining portion remains in full force and effect; where possible the portion found unenforceable will be construed in a manner consistent with the remaining portions.


This contract is construed according to the laws of the Dominican Republic and the customer is bound to the jurisdiction of the said courts.

The customer acknowledges having read and understood the above terms and conditions and agrees to be bound by the same. By booking online, the customer will waive certain legal rights, including right to sue for damages.

What is the maximum number of guests on the VIP Saona Dive and Snorkel Tour?

Maximum number of guests on the VIP Saona Dive and Snorkel is 25 people.  In the two weeks of Christmas and New Years, we allow 30 people maximum.

What is the maximum number of guests on the Catalina Dive and Snorkel Tour?

Maximum number of guests on the Catalina Dive and Snorkel is 18 people.

Which tour is best Saona or Catalina?

This is a personal preference question both are great tours.  The ocean does get rough at the end of the day on the Catalina tour so if you are prone to motion sickness then I would definitely choose Saona Island.

Which tour is best for Children, Catalina or Saona?

The tour to Saona is the best one with children as the waters are calmer, and they love the starfish at Starfish Cay on the way home.

I want to go to one of the islands but only have half a day for the tour, can I go?

No.  Unfortunately, both Catalina and Saona Islands are too far away for a half day tour.  You will need a full day to visit either of these islands.

Can I get married on Saona or Catalina Islands?

Yes!  Please call us and let us help you plan this wonderful event.

Do I need to know how to swim in order to learn how to dive?

Yes basic swimming is needed in order to learn to dive.  Without being comfortable in the water and if you have no basic swimming skills you will not be able to enjoy your dive experience.

I have never gone snorkeling before will I still enjoy this tour?

Yes absolutely you will be able to participate and our staff will be pleased to teach you how to snorkel.  You only need to be comfortable in the water, have basic swimming skills and ready to have fun.

Do you offer underwater photo services?

Yes! We offer different packages based on the number of people in your group and your activity!  Please ask your guide on the tour.

Do you have prescription masks?

Unfortunately we do not carry those masks as eye prescriptions vary greatly and it would be impossible to have all the right combinations.

Will we see sharks?

The likelihood of seeing sharks is very slim unless you are joining one of our advanced scuba diving adventures to Shark Point.

I don’t snorkel can I get a discount?

Unfortunately there is no non-snorkeler price.  You still need transportation and food and that is where the expenses are.  Once the boat is on the snorkel site there is no cost to snorkel.

Do you have life jackets on board?

Yes all boats have life jackets available for you and we also have “pool noodles” on the snorkeling tours for your use.

Are life jackets mandatory when we snorkel?

No.  We do not force you to wear a life jacket if you dont’ want one.  In fact, if you love free diving down deeper or wish to learn how our staff will be pleased to assist you.

Why is there no price for children under 4?

We do not accept children under 4 on our regular dive or snorkel tours as a general safety rule and for the enjoyment of all our guests.  Children under 4 are welcome on any private charter of your choice (except the purely dive charters).

What is the standard Buffet Lunch?

Your standard buffet lunch includes: grilled chicken, grilled pork, pasta, rice, potatoes, Dominican salad, fresh fruit and bread.

I am a vegetarian do you have any options for me?

The regular buffet has pasta, rice, potatoes, salad and fruit.

Someone in my party has severe food allergies will he be able to eat?

Unfortunately, there is no way to guarantee 100% that there is no cross-contamination here.  It would be best to bring something for that person.

Will we stop at a souvenir store?

No.  We do not make a scheduled stop at a souvenir store.  However, we do sell souvenirs on the tour and you will have the chance to go to a Dominican souvenir market if you go on either the full day Saona or Catalina tours.

Can we pick sea shells?

Yes you may pick sea shells along the beach at Saona and at Catalina Islands.

What time is my pick up?

You will see your pick up time once you enter the booking process and choose your hotel from the list.  Your pick up time will be indicated there.

Where do I wait for the pick up?

You must wait for the pick up in the hotel lobby as specified on your booking confirm.  Please make sure you are in the correct lobby if there is more than one lobby in your hotel.
